{"id":200,"date":"2013-10-15T16:45:43","date_gmt":"2013-10-15T16:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kula.si\/?p=200"},"modified":"2015-09-17T16:44:48","modified_gmt":"2015-09-17T16:44:48","slug":"antropoloska-ekspedicija-himalayan-health-exchange","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kula.si\/?p=200","title":{"rendered":"Antropolo\u0161ka ekspedicija Himalayan Health Exchange"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Himalayan Health Exchange (HHE) is organizing its 11<sup>th<\/sup> annual, anthropological field expedition to India in the summer of 2014.\u00a0 Through independent study\/fieldwork in the Inner and Greater Himalayan region of North India, HHE will offer students a practical approach to the study of India and the Himalayan\u00a0culture in a socio-cultural, medical and religious context.\u00a0 During their journey, team members will attend a 7-day, public health awareness camp and have the opportunity to investigate local history, religious beliefs and practices, modern human adaptations, regional effects of globalization and monastic life. In addition, through trekking and camping in remote areas, they will participate in the interconnectedness of the magnificent natural environment with a daily local existence. This first-hand experience will be accompanied by daily academic lectures and research assistance.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lecture topics will include<\/span>:\u00a0 Cultural, Medical, Economic, Biological and Visual Anthropology, Religion &amp; Philosophy, Cross-cultural healing, Ayurveda, Public Health, Buddhism, Hinduism, Indian and Tibetan history, High Altitude Adaptation, Psychology, Art\/Fine Arts, Geography, Social Work, Sociology, Yoga and Meditation<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Note: <\/i><\/b><i>This is a moderately high-altitude expedition in rugged Trans Himalayan regions. Field camp elevations range between 6,000-8,000 feet, with a higher pass crossing of 10,000 feet. As a participant, you must be in excellent physical shape and health and be willing to work in improvised field sites.<br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Locations &amp; destination points:<\/span> \u00a0<\/b>New Delhi,<b> <\/b>Kais, Kullu, Bir, Dharamsala and McLeodganj located in Himachal Pradesh, India.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Expedition fee<\/span>:<\/b> All-inclusive land cost fee is US $3,080.
